New water textures

Post by hobby »

On 'all nodes busy' members might like to try, after backing up the necessary 'fs9/scenery/world/textures' the file aquarama.zip.

Tried it out on my own setup and I think that these textures are very good. Do try visiting the Uk coast, then mid Pacific and Australia on the same day to appreciate the treatment of ocean, sea and river colours. You get to pick your own preferred river colours.

Hi Hobby,

Thanks for the heads up. I am looking for some decent freeware water textures, so I might give them a whirl.

Just setting my alarm clock for 0400hrs BST so I can get up in the middle of the night and get into the bl**dy site! :curse:

Not sure if you know the tip someone gave me to try and get into 'all nodes busy'. When you get the customary 'all nodes busy' just hit F5, then 'enter'. If still busy, just keep F5ing and 'entering'. it takes seconds to do (no entering username/pw each time). If its REALLY busy it might take me about 20 seconds to get in after about a dozen tries.

Rgds

I usually get into Flightsim during the day, but at night it is not as easy. This file is now available at Avsim for what it's worth though.

All the best,

Philip.

Just installed 'em. TBH they're not that bad actually. Still in the experimenting phase with them. But they look ok on first impressions. Anythings better than the default offerings..

I'll dig it up when I get home - the gent made some major modification as
to how the breakers work in FS9 - he also produces different size waves
at the moment Im trying to get him to reproduce the point break
at "Jaws" on the north shore of Maui - where they have regularly 20-30 foot breaks

Surfs Up LOL
