A380

I got my first sight of the 380 today at LHR. I have to say it wasn't as impressive as I expected. Sure it looked larger than the 747 parked next door but the difference wasn't that great. What really made it apart were the full length double row of windows. Now when the stretched version appears I will be impressed!

The only thing I didn't like about its appearance was the the nose profile fwd of the w/screens.

Thanks. Sorry about the third one, it was taken from the road over the cargo tunnel where the BAA don't like cars stopping, so it was just a quick snap

Let's face it the BAA don't like camaeras airside full stop.

Thanks Paul

Youve beaten the folks at Flight International and probably Anet to the punch

Quality airside pics!

I was just downloading the pics my old man took when he flew over there for the day to see it in.

I agree; not very pretty is it, particularly when compared to other Airbuses like the A340. Certainly impressive though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the A300, A310, A330 and A340 all share exactly the same nose (and fuselage section) on the basis of even the A340 being originally the A300B11 or something like that.

Could be right there, Toby. But there is something about the A340...those unlikely slender wings carrying four engines..can't put my finger on it but she is lovely to look at.

Agreed. The 340 500 and 600 looks class.

A340 simply reminds me of the 707.

Although the A340 has larger engines and fuselage the same proportions are maintained.
