Either one of the 2 Daves please VC issue on the BAC1-11

Post by Nigel H-J »

Just downloaded the BAC 1-11 aircraft and panels and sounds and update all again to see if I could overcome this issue.

When going into the VC mode all I get is the throttles control column etc. The instrument panel has no instruments as does the overhead. Uninstalled and reinstalled but no luck.....The 2d version works well and is the latest release.

Graphic card is: GForce FX5200 128Mb.

The VC in the Trident works with no problem.

Thanks Nigel

So much for a quiet Sunday watching CSI! :k:

Coincidentally.. the 1-11 fleet I had on this system was a bit out of date (I realised this sitting with my silly hat and TrackIR on when no VC came into view and the 2D panel was the old one!!!) so I installed all of the new ones again just a few days ago. They all work Nigel.. well, all the ones I've tried anyway.

First things first. Bin what you have at the moment (and this includes going into the DMFS Shared files folder and deleting all the BAC 1-11 folders therein).
Next.. I'm shooting in the dark a bit as it seems I've already binned the original zips. I'm fighting for space on C drive so have had to start getting tough!!
However... you will probably have at least 3 zips (6 if you downloaded the lot) so we'll take 3 as an example. Double click on the file 111_200.zip to open it......... S T O P.

I've just had a look at DM's latest files and notice he's put an installer on each one. Are these the files you're using Nigel??

Hi Nigel,

I had a nasty feeling you were going to say that. I have no idea where DM's installer put's all the files and while I have every faith in DM to get it right.. I can't put hand on heart and say it is right cause I haven't seen it.

Will have a look and see what's what.

[edit] What settings do you have in the Hardware section Nigel??

Hi Nigel,

I'm getting a feeling this is something card related but as you see the Trident in VC ok, it's all a bit confusing.

Just to make sure you have all the correct files.. have a look in DMFS Shared Files and go to the folder BAC 1-11 Panel VC. You should see the cabfile in there plus the following .bmp's...
OHP.bmp
PANEL_1.bmp
PANEL_2.bmp
PANEL_2D_CRT.bmp
PANEL_3.bmp
PANEL_C.bmp
PANEL_O.bmp
plus of course, the panel.cfg

Oh, btw.. other than the colour depth, my mips are 4 and hardware lighting effects 6.

Hi Dave

Gone into the DMFS Shared Files - Folder BAC1-11 Panel VC.

Listed in this order:

DM1-11.cab
OHP.bmp
Panel.cfg
Panel1.bmp
Panel2.bmp
Panel 2d
Panel3.bmp
PanelC.bmp
Panel0

Hiya Nigel,

Sri but work got in the way a bit :curse:

Try as I might.. I can't come up with anything satisfactory mate so I'm gonna pull all of my One-Eleven's and try the version with the installer when I finish (hopefully around 30mins). If you simply clicked on the .exe file for the base, panel and sound packs.. there has to be a) something wrong with the install or b) with the files themselves. Knowing that the files all work without the self-installer, I can't see why they don't play ball.

One more thing... did you have any One-Eleven's installed on your system (eg.. any old ones)?? prior to using this install and finally.. which models do you have installed (eg.. 200, 400, 475 e t c)

Nigel

My name's not Dave  but I tried installing the 111 from the installer into a separate directory.

Until I moved the files that you listed for the 111 panel, I had no gauges either - just the control stick. But when I moved them, everything was ok.

And using a Nvidia 6600GT.

With MIP = 4 Lights =6 (like DaveB) but also OK with 5 and 7 values (like you).

So no help really, just confirming it worked ok for me

Ian
