Internet Provider Advice!

Having read a number of posts in regard to internet providers, and remembering that AOL is on CB's list of dirty words, along with Kebab, diet and salad, I was thinking and need some advice.

At the moment I have AOL Gold (Sorry CB) but was wandering if it was possible for me to keep my existing AOL account and email etc, but use other software to browse the web and access my email still using the AOL broadband connection.

From what people have said, AOL software is rather cr#p and can slow your machine down, I know I can change providers etc, but I would like to keep my exisiting email address, as I have so many things setup on it.

Any ideas chaps?

Hi Jetty,
I used Netscape8 for a while, as I was having probs with the default IE.
When I installed it, it automatically tried to act as my default browser.

I would imagine that others do the same.
