Uploading Problem

Post by Paule »

Help! Can't upload to ClassicBrit files site. I'm on NTL and use Zonelabs Pro. Think Zonelabs is my problem - do I need to allow sharing and/or let my PC act as a server. Must have a setting that restricts sharing/server to the Classic Brit site. How do I put a site into the trusted zone - I've read the ZL help and forum and I'm no wiser.

If u have a solution please put it into baby language.

Thanks for help (hopefully)

Paul

What error messages are you getting?

It makes it easier to offer help if we know what might be causing the problem.

I don't get any error messages, and nothing like a warning pops up from Zonelabs. The Zonelabs monitor shows internet activity, but it just goes on and on. I can't imagine that a 200Kb file takes long to get uploaded.

Hi Paul

Uploading can take a very long time.

Always much longer than downloading.

How long are you giving it?

Ian

Just tried to upload and got the 'invalid referrer' message after I pressed 'Submit' on ClassicBrit.

If you are using FTP (or if classicbritish's site uses something along those lines), make sure that in ZA under program control, Application Layered Gateway (ALG) has four ticks by it.

Tried that, still 'invalid referrer'. Somehow, I think I need to get the ClassicBrit site into the trusted zone.

Paul,

No I don't think that is the problem. I've just uploaded a photo. ZoneAlarm just has my home network in the trusted zone.

ALG is set to ? for all four options in ZA and it did not ask if that was ok (which it would if involved).

ZA is set High for Internet Zone, Medium for trusted zone.

And it went through 2 hardware firewalls as well (don't ask!).

Think u are right, that ZL is not the prob. Have even tried it with ClassicB in the trusted zone and still got 'invalid referrer'. Do I have to Log in to Classic to upload?
