Hi Marcus,

Guess it doesnt hurt to post this, but various people, myself included have now written to the Chief Exec of Manchester Airports Group regarding the lack of progress on rebuild. Theres a few more delicate issues that I cannot discuss publicly which I might be able to do over on the Trident forum. I cant remember if you're a member of the (hidden) "inner sanctum" board over there, if not, I'll make sure you are invited!

Ah inner sanctums, well I have helped out on ZK recently and Neil has told me what was going on up until that point, I also help out at FAST on ZI so whether that makes me a member of the inner sanctum? oooh the mystery of it all :-#

Hi Marcus, if you log in to the other forum now, you'll see what I mean, for some reason I had neglected to add you

I subscribed sometime before the actual move Toby.

The 'when' is unimportant. Most of the move was as I understand it, funded by BAA plc. A large sum of the private donations are actually held by the airport still.

Update. A number of us wrote to the CEO of Manchester Airport to outline the case for rebuilding the aircraft ASAP. The reply basically boiled down to there being insufficient funds currently available and them believing that current quotes for the job were too high.

They also state that they are only willing to do all of it in one go, basically they will not permit existing funds raised to be used to reattach the tail and engines and fabricate the parts necessary for wing reattachment as we had wished.

So the upshot is we are embarking on a second fundraising stint, including the launch of a range of merchandise and appeal for more corporate sponsors.

Well I havent posted the link here, but if you vist the site you should see it (just updated the pages so you might need to refresh your browser).

I dont know what your policy would be here since its "payware", but I would quite like to place a link on the forum since it may be of interest to members and it is a good cause.

In addition to what you see there, I have a Classic British Jetliners Calendar that will be coming out within the next month, a limited addition print by our own Andrew Hay (flyingart) and Gemini Jets are making a diecast model for us.
