just had this posted on my navy forum dont know if anyone wants to donate. Blackbuck is a sore point( i disagree with all the RAF pr spin put on the op) with me but i would love to see one flying again.

HI

As some of you may or may not know there is a group called the Vulcan to the sky trust who are trying to return Vulcan XH558 to air worthy status she is due to fly next year she is booked to fly up the mall for us sadly the project is in need of a major sponsor the VTS group need our help as veterans you will have read or heard of the Blackbuck missions carried out in 82 during the conflict this action saved lives today there are no Vulcan’s flying to get one back into the air is a colossal project considerable funds have already been spent every time XH558 fly’s at a public event the memory of the Falklands war will be told no other aircraft in living memory has such an emotional following her presence is one of awe.
The VTS has asked me to call on all to support this project they came to the AGM seeking our help they have less than one month to raise the short fall its not a huge amount considering £2.5 million has already been spent they require another £250,000 I’m not suggesting we raise this amount our self’s but any donation would be well received we owe it to them they want to fly for us so lets dig deep please or if you have any ideas how to raise funds get in contact either direct with them or me there web address is http://www.vulcantothesky.com or contact Colin Marshall at [email protected] his contact number is 07974376388 please please help to get her flying.

What PR spin - Black Buck proved several times that Beunos Aires was within range (of the Vulcan) should we so desire, and forced Argentine AD* assets north to defend the capital. Exactly the point of the raid!

*which if they hadn't may have made life for the fleet slightly more interesting to say the least...

well done hot_charlie you have proved my point about spin,

http://www.answers.com/topic/operation-black-buck

I would also suggest reading Sharkey Wards book & how the RAF caused the task force to leave itself wide open to attack because the RAF wanted a fire free zone!
