The mind boggles. He should have his license binned for that.

His licence should be pulled immediately while the investigation is underway.

Until it is assessed as just a stupid act of perhaps the person is incapable of driving properly...but until then it is not worth the risk.

I was working when this happened, we cover Trowell in Notts where he was finally stopped.

It could have been so much worse very easily.

Mad old bat.

Agreed its sounds like a definate candidate for disqualification, however this type of driving boo-boo happens much more often that many realise.

Its just this one has made the press.

We had one last year where a car pulled into a petrol station on a dual carriageway to ask for directions. The driver was from abroad and not used to our roads.

The sales assistant told him that the place he was looking for was out of the garage and to the right.

He obviously didn't understand that on a dual carriageway you can't just turn right and instead of going down the road to the roundabout and turning round he did exactly as told and turned right out of the garage.

Straight into an oncoming car, three dead in that one.

Oncoming drivers really don't have a chance.

I still don't see just how they manage to get on the wrong carriageway..................
Most junctions that I can think of, you would need to do a three point turn to come off the island, and get onto the off-slip. You certainly couldn't do it in error.

It just goes to reinforce my thoughts that motorway driving should be included in the driving test.
Maybe a compusory but free annual driving/eye test after the age of 65.
