Being a natural cynic I'm keeping my thoughts to myself on this one; but its been interesting watching the activities they've been showing at Heathrow on the apron, taxiways and runways - the landings looked a little better than mine! Is CBFS VA at a standstill??

US has made a followup according to CNN breaking news.:

Qte:

-- The U.S. has raised its threat warning to the highest level for commercial flights from Britain to the United States in response to a terror plot disrupted in London. According to The Associated Press, the terrorists had targeted United, American and Continental airlines, two U.S. counterterrorism officials said.

Unqte.

Just saw this on the news and a quote from the BBC News Website is:

According to BBC sources the "principal characters" suspected of being involved in the plot were British-born. There are also understood to be links to Pakistan"

Appears that they must be recruiting many in this country of British Nationality to spread terrorism......If that is the case then those who are caught and cannot be legally thrown out as being a threat should, if found guilty, be locked away for a very long time, in fact, for the rest of their miserable lives!! Also see that the US Sky Marshalls will be coming over to assist in security measures at airports and aircraft.

Just hope that Bush does not consider our country a training ground for terrorists and sends his troops over.......!!!! :gun:

Not very good thing to hear since my folks are out in Seattle!

The one thing that really does my head in is beacuase they think they are going to go to heaven or whatever their equivalent is for murdering masses of innocent people? How does that work? I could understand if they were going after military targerts, but unarmed civilians?

Anyway we dont want this turning into a political debate....

Quite true Jonesey. I posted it for information and topical affairs. I'm sure many of the more switched on folks on here know better than to open a political can-of-worms.

Truth is the politics and depth of any threat is unknown so is pointless to try and debate even if we wanted.

What is a fact is the disruption to air travel and that is of interest here.

So it would be nice to discuss the ins and outs of delays and the effect the delays have rather that trying to work out the blame for the reasons behind the decisions that caused the delays.

There are many other forums for that.....but common sense seems to be prevailing for the most part here.
