I was going to justify my post re this issue however I will not, suffice to say I WILL NOT hide behind PM's as it was suggested I should have done, I am to be honest rather tired of all this and hence I will ban myself from posting forthwith for a period of time to when I "grow up" if that is okI think I have to go with Callum on this one. The other thread has the surreal situation of a number of gents in their 40s and 50s attacking each other in a way normally attributed to, err, younger forum users shall we say!

Garry, I must say the Earth looks a bit featureless from up there - must be real though MS says so . My system is not up to your spec (AMD 64 3200+ but with 2Gb - assorted - RAM) and I only have 5.5Gb free space (unlike your several million feet). Mind you I have been playing with the default stuff only.
Apparently no-one can hear you say "oh sh!t" in space. Glad to see a bit of humour come back into this discussion.
Regards,
Chris

Funny you should mention that Chris
When you look down it is featureless apart from a small ares that is covered by the demo.
But if I show that you would see that as the engines are stopped due to lack of air the, he door are open and steps deployed.........
embarrassing  when that happens in space.

I remember back in the dark days of previous and even slower FS incarnations that you could zoom out and see the globe as it probably should/would look depending on your location.. clouds and all. Seems odd that BG has chosen to resurrect it again  Perhaps in the release version.. we'll get a shuttle in the list of default a/c
