Quite right, he should just have a few more codes to chose from...instead of using the same option value for eg. all the tridents, he himself could internally name them differently....tri1, tri2, tri3 etc...same for the others...

Dan..

I'm not sure how conclusive that list actually is. VC10's were VC10 regardless of type and the Vanguard was VC9 :think: Did 1-11's have different ICAO codes??

I'm pretty sure 1-11's used a different code from the VC10 and Vanguard

Joking aside, next time I see Konny online I'll see what can be done.

Dave, I don't know if this is of any use to you but during the period you seem to be interested in - late 60s-early 70s - The Super VC10 did have its own ICAO type designator of VC15. During the same period, the 1-11s were all BA11 and the Tridents were all HS21 but the Viscount series 700 and 800 were differentiated with designators of VC7 and VC8. As you've already mentioned, the Vanguard in those days was VC9.

I've sent ICAO a mail requesting older designator codes...let's see if they are willing to reply....

Thanks for that info Peter, that's good enough for me. I've sent the edit details to FlyNET to get SVC10 ICAO changed to VC15.
