Post by RAF_Quantum »

Hi Guys

New client version 0.5.9b is now out and needed for your next flight.
Konny wrote: [Version 0.5.9b]

[new] Manual PIREP upload
[fix] Certain fuel tanks weren't refueled
[fix] Fuel is no longer set to 0 before refueling the aircraft
[new] More debug-output about the program speed
[new] Co-pilot who tells you about aircraft handling errors
[delete] AntiCheat ( it will come back )
[fix] some more small bugfixes
Regarding the new feature 'Co-pilot', a little more info from Konny :-

Hopefully you will never met him, because currently he only appears via a text message when you exceeded a speed limit or did something else which affects your rating. So now you don't only hear that dull beep when you race down the taxiway but also know what exactly you did wrong.
Maybe he'll be a bit more communicative in future releases

Dan..

The way I understood the 'whats new' bit was that Anti Cheat had been deleted but that it would return in the future.. that is, if you wanted to (or even knew how to!!) you could for now but expect not to be able to with the future releases
It shouldn't make any difference to us here anyway as what's the point in cheating. We all fly for fun!!

It is my understanding that using eg. the pause function is treated as as a cheat, thus with this new version this will be unavailable...could be wrong though :dunno:

I'm not familiar with what is considered as cheating and what is not....

There were do versions of the old client if memory serves, and I believe we should be using the one without anti cheat anyway.

I just checked to see my former version, and it was indeed the noAC version, so it seems you're right there Dave. no differences regarding this with the new version.

Hi Guys.

This version does NOT have any anti-cheat function in it as it was 'buggy' We never ran that version anyway so nothing has changed for us. I made the list of what the changes were to avoid anyone asking where the no anti-cheat version was. All ops normal as far as we are concerned.

Apparently introducing an auto update functionality....

I hope they dont remove the ability to pause. Until such time as they can implement a virtual stewie to bring and place in front of me on my desk a cold beverage, there is no justification for removing the ability to pause the sim! :huf:
