"Dambusters" to be remade by Peter Jackson
Moderators: Guru's, The Ministry
Staying off the original subject one of the first patients I saw after coming to Italy had terrible scars across her back.
Me "How did you get these scars" thinking road accident or similar.
Patient "A bomb"
Me "A BOMB!
Patient "An English bomb"
Me
She must have been about ten when it happened.
And here's a picture of my mate's dad
A nice guy. Actually he was a mechanic not a pilot.

DoubleDid you read my suggestion on page 1 Nigel?
Sorry TobyV, the simple fact is that I didn't, just read the first thread then jumped in with both feet..........as per usual!!
Never mind, at least that's two of us from this Forum that's agreed who takes the starring role!!
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

Wouldn't it be nice if, like Memphis Belle with B-17s, they gather airworthy Lancasters together for the filming. Okay, there are only two at the moment, but what if 'Just Jane' was funded back to flying condition by the studios ? Okay, not likely in this CGI-world, but we can but hope. I'd even forgive them leaving out Nigger if JJ flew again...well, maybe..

Remember the beloved Ealing Film "The Lady Killers" with Obi Wan Guinness & the lines just north of Kings Cross Station.
That was - as you will recall, remade not too long ago with Tom Hanks, (Barns Wallis anyone?) and that was a rather medeocre remake at that.
IF this remake were to be made I realy do hope it is given the research & funding it deserves.
As for the famous Eric Coates Theme

Is the guy who played Morse still alive? Strikes me he would make an excellent Barnes-Wallis even if he looks nothing like him - The major problem I see is that there are few young british actors left to play the likes Gibson - For whatever else you fault the Battle of Britain for , the
producers had an incredible pool of actors to draw from.

You mean John Thaw, Leif ? Sadly, he passed away some years ago. I agree though, he would have been ideal for the role of B-W.DispatchDragon wrote:Is the guy who played Morse still alive?
