Multi-PC / Multi-Display Setup
Hi
Does anyone have any suggested websites detailing the setting up of an FS9 system like this:
6 monitors:-
- LH seat instruments
- RH seat instruments
- Centre instruments
- Forward outside view
- Left outside view
- Right outside view
I am assuming the best set up would be to have one PC handle the outside views and one or two to handle the instrumentation (assuming I can get FS to work with a two/three cards)
It needs to be a pretty thorough description as this will be a steep learning curve on this stuff....
Any help/advice gratefully received!!!

Steve..
The best I can think of for a setup of this size is to have a look at projectmagenta.com. It's been a while since I tried anything like this but their setups used either WideFS or Wideview and required a pc for each individual view  I've run 3 systems (pc's) on one particular flight before (using WideFS) but the whole lot was complicated to setup.. the flight needed to have the same parameters (start time, aircraft, weather e t c) on each pc and at that point, not all animations were visible on all views so you would see the gear up on one pc but down on the WideFS pc's. FSUIPC has moved on some since then mind you so there might be an easier way.
I dunno if you're au fait with ProjectMagenta Steve but their site is worth a visit. BOY.. are there some impressive setups

Re: Multi-PC / Multi-Display Setup
Have you thought about trying it with a single PC running a dual DVI output graphics card through two Matrox TripleHead2Go boxes. Then you don't have to worry about WideFS synchronization problems.steveS4SSL wrote:Hi

I run a similar system (nVidia Quadro FX4500) with 4 monitors. One output supplies a 30" LCD panel running at 2560x1600 for the instruments and the other channel runs a TripleHead2Go for the 3 outside views. I get in excess of 24 FPS. Don't have a second TH2Go to let you know how well it performs with 6, but if I subsequently do decide to stretch to another TH2Go, I'll post back
Regards
Jim

funnily enough, I have just got the new issue of PCPlus which has the TripleHead2Go in it and was wondering whether it would do the job!
I like the idea of single high performance PC with a dual VGA graphics card plus 2 TH2G boxes .... should make things much simpler!
That said, I'll be paying Project Magenta another visit....

In particular check out the two short video's http://home.nc.rr.com/jrhavrilla/video.htm and also the system setup page http://home.nc.rr.com/jrhavrilla/system_setup.htm
I think you'll be impressed if not inspired
Hope it helps
