Before the wild rumors start to spread.........
Some of you may have seen the advert for the sale of the Air Atlantique Classic Flight in the latest edition of Flight International.
The Classic Flight has been advertised to 'test the water' to see if there are any serious potential new owners out there. It's always been for sale at the right price, it's just not been advertised before.
IF someone with lots of money to spend on classic British aircraft is prepared to buy the Classic Flight, then it can only be a good thing. The Classic Flight is not to be disbanded. The collection will not be split up. There COULD be one new home for the whole collection/business, IF there is someone willing to buy it.
This year has proved that with a little dedication from all the team, the Classic Flight has huge potential to keep itself running for many years to come.
We have many new and exciting things planned for 2007, so watch this space!
Tom.

Thanks for the explanation Tom.
You people seem to have the right approach in doing whatever it needs to make it work even if that meant moving ownership.
Can't beat an open mind

Hi Tom
not sure how you can say it won't be split up etc. thats up to whoever buys it.
once you have sold it you will have zero control over what happens to it.
Sorry mate just a logical view from me
So you have bought up all Emerald's 748's and your going to run them in 2007 ??.
Maybe not but i can dream
Regards

PHEW!! I'd read this over on the other Forums, and was getting a little concerned. Glad that AA is only keen to sell it as a package, and with best interests at heart.
I suppose it's a case of moving on perhaps (Coventry not being the place it used to be), and maybe concentrating on the Airline side of the business.
AA could still do the servicing though!

Fingers crossed matey. A cash injection would be good as many of this type of opperation are run / own by an individuals who, with the best will in the world, can't do it forever.
I'm of the view that there should be a national charitable trust setup to run all of these type of things under one banner, but snowballs chance in hell me thinks.
Cheers for the heads up mate.
