BA/BEA Merchantman

Post by Garry Russell »

To fill a gap G-APEO makes an appearance wearing BA titles on her BEA livery

One of four withdrawn in 1975/6 due to curtailment of freight schedules after the TriStar entered service it was not as lucky as the others

G-APEL and 'EM went off to EAS in France while G-APES joined ABC well before they became a major operator of the type.

Stored at Prestwick along with some Tridents 1C's, she started to look forlorn and derelict with various parts missing.

Later she was reactivated and flown to Heathrow for scrapping

Already uploaded to Classic British Files, it will be sent to Simviation and Flightsim.com shortly.

And you'd better make some more space as there will be some more British VC 9's very soon
