Katherine Legge in 180mph crash

British racing driver Katherine Legge has been involved in a 180mph accident whilst racing in the Champ Car Series in the US. The rear wing broke of the car and sent it straight into the wall. She escaped with a bruised knee.
Personally as a marshal and someone who is a big follower of motorsport I wouldn't be too hopeful of what I'd expect to find. But that is amazing.

Watch the video here.

She is one tough cookie. Wonder if she is single ;)

A really horrible accident , with thankfully no serious consequences - note how close the wreckage came to going over the catch fencing

I'm glad that she was ok (mostly anyways)
but thats the reality of what happens when one
is under the illusion of controlling the uncontrolable
,you know many finish these races with out incident
but I'm sure many times in the race they've started
to go into a slide corrected properly and steered throough
it.
But heres the thing...... In a slide or fishtail, he (or she) is steering,
gassing, and or breaking with a set of rules in mind
....physics, he (or she) knows with touch, sight and the feeling
of inertia in his body that when he (or she) applies
the controls it will send the vehicle on a path of correct (or desired)trajectory.
the problem with that is the info he thinks he has
has changed, .......a passing cloud that cools the track a few degrees.
A tire (tyre)that has changed pressure or temperture
a wing that has a loosened fastener or a fatiuged componet.
these things are the reality they cannot always count on
or control.

hench , ......screeeech, Bang

Sri to hear about the demise of Mrs Otter mate (and I don't mean passing to another.. higher place either). Many of us here are on different verions (updates if you will) so can sympathise with your plight

Odd shots those. The top two are great but the later (lower) one is pretty average. Point is, I'd not even heard of her before the crash :-$ Show's I can't afford SKY doesn't it
