Hi Guy's,

My sincere apologies for not mentioning this earlier but for those of you who might be in the vicinity of Brooklands tomorrow (Sat 14th Oct), the Vanguard crew will be running the engines up. The first run is scheduled for 1100 (we're going to try and get Gen1 to come online!!) and run two is scheduled for 1400. On both occassions, all four Tynes will be running (he says.. fingers crossed) and runs normally last around 10mins.

For those who can make it, the sound of 4 Tynes running.. even at ground idle is something you won't forget in a hurry

Unfortunately not........Up in Blackpool for a long week-end away with the good lady.

By the way you've written that Dave sounds like you might just be up somewhere near the cockpit on one of the starts!!

Yo Nigel!!

I'll be on the FD for both runs filming the event (it's a tough job but someone has to do it) That said.. if I'm happy with what I get on the first run.. I may film the second from outside. Pity they're not doing 3 runs as that would be ideal!!

Mmm, might be worth getting the Cam-corder out for. Hopefully the Tynes might run up a bit more than idle...?

I assume those times are BST, Dave, (but being aviation, you never know!)

Hi Chris,

Yes.. those times are BST  I'm pretty sure they'll go out of ground and into flight idle at some point and it's been the norm to run single engines in reverse.. nice and windy for those on the other side of the tape!

Nigel.. I already have one FD video I took on an engine run some time ago but it's not really up to much. I hope my new Canon will make a much better job  We'll see!!

I'll try and be there for the 1400 run, I'm on nights tonight!

The last time I heard Tynes was when they were taxing round LHR.
