Hi Guy's
Dunno if any of you have seen this bit of footage before (Henk probably has!!) but it worth the couple of minutes viewing. SA 747SP landing on a
very small runway

Cheers Dave
I'd not seen that one
That's one of those rare occasions when flying is almost as real as FS
Must have been fun for the crew....one landing they'll never forget.

Looked like they had a fair ol' crosswind thrown in for extra fun value

You have to hand it to them, those SAA heavy (747 & A340) pilots are just the right side of the genius/insane boundary

Thanks for that, Dave. I saw a similar one a while ago concerning a QANTAS 747 landing in similar circumstances. That was interesting as well.

I remember a little over 12 years ago, stepping off a late evening Air UK Leisure flight from LGW to SZG, being surprised to see an Air China 747 parked next to us on the apron. It was there for a high-level diplomatic meeting. How they got that into Salzburg I'd like to know, the runway isnt all that long (or wide!)
