Heh, it does a very impressive display at fairford, didnt see that though!

I saw a Wardair B747-200 do that at Birmingham some years ago.
I then watched the engineers scratching their heads and pouring over their manuals, whilst all the engine cowls were open.
Meanwhile, the next contingent of pax was loading.
The aircraft departed on time for Toronto.

Compressor stalls can be fairly dramatic, but in most cases are harmless. Although, on higher performance engines, they can cause damage. I once saw a B-1B compressor-stall, knocking the safety observer back on his butt (he was standing about even with the nose cone), and start a grass fire from the shelled turbine blades that were expelled from the tailcone! I was standing a quarter-mile or better away at the time, and it sounded like a series of cannon shots.
