I find it very annoying having to continually change frequencies on those long flights. My usual trick is once I have reached my target altitude and the controller tells me to switch I acknowledge but then don't contact next controller until about 150 miles from the destination. They don't seam to mind.

Me too, but the other day, I saw that the next frequency change wasn't due for at least 1o min. and went for smoke....when I came back, my plan was cancelled.....

The morale: stop smoking.....
