well i was walking home from uni (worcester) and i hear a plane coming, no biggy as we get loads of low flyers. this one however kept getting louder so thinking it would be a nice low hercules i fumbled to find my phone. the thing lumbered over slowly and i could make out every detail - eventually i managed to get my phone switched on, zoom in and take a pic - however i've just found out its as large as a stamp. missed oppurtunity!

anyway - i've never seen such a beast fly around here (if you discount the hercules 2am training ground that seemingly is my house) and i was just wondering about it? it was in the classic RAF style - dark green, black white stripes on the wings...you know the ones.

If it had D-Day stripes it would be one of the three below.

N1944A based at Kemble http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1117341/L/

N473DC based at Liverpool http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1068267/L/

N147DC belonging to Aces High http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1127064/L/

The BBMF Dak no longer wears D-Day stripes that rules them out.

hmm i'm sure it had RAF markings on so i'd guess it was the last of that list.

still a spot i'm chuffed of - though while picniccing we did see a VC10 - pretty high but it's easily recognisable.

i'll wait another few months til the next exciting one :P
