Jakes Bar to Summit...

Time to leave Jakes Bar (AK0), having set up a refuelling point and filled my tanks. I've chosen to go on to Summit (UMM) which is 215 nms away and it may be a bit ambitious as I'm turning on the real weather today:-

Image
Ready to start with a cheery wave from the scooter girl...

Image
Just setting the new P type fully working compass by unclamping the bezel and rotating it till 283 degrees is under the lubber line...283 is our direct course to Summit.

Away we go.

Summit.

Now with fuel!

Looks like scooter girl beat you to Summit, Peter. Must have been some headwind for you

Terrific sequence of shots of the adventure, but I'd say you were lucky with the weather at this time of year  Are you going to fly back or call it a day?

Ian,

The weather was real downloaded weather and as you say it was really nice...However, I discovered I had made a mistake...I went to set the time for the middle of the day tomorrow and discovered that I had still got the FS9 default flight's season and date.

Shock and horror!...I set it for 11:00 am local tomorrow, when I wish to set off for Lake Hood and of course I was confronted with the December light. Those last two pictures are not late in the evening as the light suggests, but 11 in the morning on December 1st.

I guess this is not really the time of year for touring! I'll get Sierra Bravo to Lake Hood (later today) and then call it a day till next Spring
