pixels/meter - what altitude?

having managed building scenery, airports and even a paper airplane i'm having another go at photo scenery as i think i know what the problem was before.
i'm pretty sure i read the maximum scenery resolution for fs9 is 4 pixels a meter - is this correct? now the tricky question really is...what altitude do you have to be above an object for it to become 4 pixels/meter? i've tried all sorts of sums but not having touched maths in three years (i don't even have a calculator for doing trigonometry) i'm a bit stuck
if anyones done this before that would be just dandy
