This performance grading idea is so simple and effective. Is the software built into Vista or is it an add-on?

It's great to see at a glance what hardware gives the best result in which configuration. Thanks for that Ben. It will make configuring a new computer so much easier for those who care to research.

Its built into vista. Basicly the new interface (aero) adapts to the performance of the machine. So on a less good machine some of the sexy features are disabled to keep the performance at a good level... on more powerful machines you get more cool stuff. Obviously you can enable the cool stuff manually, but you may take a hit on performance if you machine isn't up to the task.
