Driving Games
Hey all, just after a suggestion...
After a new driving game. Used to have Colin McRae and NFSU2, but after something a little newer. Have steering wheel and pedals, just need the game now.
What can you recommend to me? After something racing, possibly off road option too. A variety of vehicles, realistic handling and crash effects would be appreciated. Price isn't much of an issue, but I don't want it to burn a hole in my pocket.
Computer Specs
2.60 GHz Intel P4
8 kb primary memory cache
512 kb secondary memory cache
1024 Mb RAM
HDD is not an issue
RADEON 9600 SERIES

I think that Test Drive: Unlimited is coming out on PC soon. I've got it on 360 and it's wonderful.. the whole of Hawaii to drive around (wherever you want) as well as every damn car you can think of..
I bought NFS:Carbon too. It's a good game. Both that and Most Wanted are good. If you like Underground 2 then you'll probably like them both.

Take a look at rFactor here http://www.rfactor.net/, you can download a demo, although the demo doesn't do it justice as the freely available community upgrades from sites such as this http://www.rfactorcentral.com/ really make a difference.
Actually the demo is the full code crippled until you buy an unlock key and really justs acts as the canvas for full experience.
Enjoy

The original GTR is cheapo! due to the sequel coming out. GT Legends is amazing in every way also.
Rallying wise you would have to go a very long way to better Richard Burns Rally which is available for a tenner or under.
And if your PC can handle it GTR 2 is really good.
I've heard some good things about rFactor but never got round to it.

One rally game that I owned and still wish I had was (If I remember correctly) RC Rally.
The graphics were of photo quality taking in stages from England Scotland Wales and Ireland.
I am sure that this is still on the market somewhere and if this is the case would be well worth buying.

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
