Bringing the subject slightly back to the VC10s' expected extension of service, when and if it reaches the milestone of fifty years of flight could I make a suggestion which would undoubtely receive a mixed reaction for obvious and also financial reasons.
One, just one VC10 from Brize, to mark this milestone (should it be reached) be painted on one side a Classic B.O.A.C. paint job and the other a classic RAF Air Support Command paint job?
Come to think of it though......... it may cause a bit of confusion on some poor NATO pilot wanting a top up!!
FSTA delays may force the UK to prolong VC10 operations
