The museum/restoration news seems to be coming thick and fast this week. The excellent Duxford Update site now has some shots of the Comet in its new livery.

Personal I think it looks quite striking. How about you guys?
Also, does anyone know when Airspace is due to open officially?
Alex
P.S. Not if sure I’m in the right area as this could fall under the gallery or E&S but Cosford and G-AWZK news residing here it thought I’d follow suit (safety in numbers!?! ). Moderators, please feel free to move this if required.

WOW! She looks gorgeous! I cant wait for the next airshow so I can pop down and see her. Is that the Victor also? With a bit of luck she will be getting a new lick of paint too.

Looks very nice, but I have to agree with Gary about the grey.
Even though it looks extremely well painted, a metal finish would have really put the cherry on top.
Since it's inside I would have thought they would go for it if they could.
Bare metal must be very hard or maybe it's impossible.
I did like the Dan-Air scheme, but it has a place in history as the BOAC so fair enough.
To redress the balance, can we have that VC10 back in that nice red tail BA now?
We need a good example now that the Cosford ones are dead.

I remember visiting the Science Museum at Wroughton some years ago and their Comet being in excellent condition and in Dan Air livery.
Not sure about its current state but it will always be remembered for being a beautiful sight.

Hi Eddie
I would think due to the conditions it's stored in it will be in pretty much the same state.
I hope so as the is the only Comet 4B left.............Maybe one day back in the Red Square?
