Just realised I should probably have posted in this forum...

...screenies of the first three of my RNZAF Andover repaints for Rick's masterpiece are in the 'gallery'. Files available on Avsim or classicbritishfiles.com.

Enjoy

Jenks.
Tonight i downloaded the HS780 RNZAF un texture, from avsim, put the textures in my fs9,modified the aircraft.cfg file,by copy and paste of the text supplied, and canged the [fltsim XX] to the next highest.
When i fired up fs9,i got a corrupt file warning,and a PMDG module.dll warning.
I had to delete this HS780 RNZAF un texture file, and do a system restore,by going back to yesterday, managed to get my fs9 back,or i could have lost all my repaints, including the NEW V2.7 ABEX that i am still doing.
I found in the process of fault finding, that this un texture file,is missing 3 bmps.
Checked this with the zip file from avsim, and confirmed them to be missing from that as well.

Hi Alan

I am not saying your wrong but it installs and runs fine for me :dunno:

I can't see how a texture set can be calling a PMDG.dll file :dunno:

& 100% that it can't mess up your FS into a non runner.

I can only guess that an accidental cut & paste of more than just the cfg section was done :dunno:

done it myself once but luckily just noticed before i lost most of FS9's major parts

missing 3 files that don't stop it running as they are just lightmaps.

748equipment_L.bmp
HS748aew_L.bmp (this one is not needed on any 780)
VCframe748_L.bmp

Are you sure you didn't install anything else when you where adding the texture pack ?

Regards
Rick

Hi Alan

Sorry to hear of your troubles, and I hope you get it all sorted. I haven't heard from anyone else experiencing any problems so far.

As far as missing any files I plead 'not guilty' :k:

I checked my uploaded file against Ricks original file and they have exactly the same number of files with exactly the same names. I also compared it to one of Ben Hartmans repaints - the same also. To create my textures I simply overwrote the changed ones, so there was no way any of them could have gone missing?

Rick I'm not sure where the three extra textures come from :worried:

Hi Jenks & rick.
I was not expecting any problems myself,it caught me be surprise,i cannot understand why it did this either, but i have managed to get things up and running again,it may have been corrupted by my internet protection, but i did notice the 3 missing files, and if anything i would have expected it to just have no paint showing in the parts effected by these.
I have never had this problem before,so its a comple mystery. :dunno:
I will try and do a fresh download, only this time i will then disconnect from the internet, and shut down the protection, while i unzip, and put files into fs9,and see if that fixs it.

Hi Alan

no you might not of had the missing files i listed as 2 of them are not needed and the frame lightmap is installed into your FS9/texture folder when you install the HS.748 so they are not needed.

I added lightmaps for all _T textures as they go transparent at night otherwise but some didn't as the VC model works differently.

Rick

Just got it very nice the three Kiwi liverys. Just tested one off them out and crashed in a hill :curse: Off topic but does the RAF still have HS-780 Andover C1 flying with them :dunno:
