Cold & Dark Starts

Hi chaps,
Ages ago, I had FS set up so that whenever I started a flight, the a/c was in a 'cold and dark' state. After I had to do a reinstall some months back, my flights always start with the engines running. Catch is, I cant remember what I did to make flights start with the engines off, and I cant seem to find the answer here on the forum (although I'm sure it was one of you guys told me how to do it

). Anyhoo, if anyone else knows how to get flights to start up with the engines off, I would be very grateful if you could share the secret with me
Cheers
Rich

When started (presumingly at Gate ot Parking.
Shut your whole thing off, engines, avionics, lights the lot.
Save as default Flight. There you go.

Another way could be to open your Default.flt (in My Documents\Flight Simulator Files)
And manually turn everything off (parameters = off or 0)
Most settings in there gives them self away. But if you are uncertain just yell :-)

I had the feeling it was something incredibly simple

And then find that half of your add-on aircraft panels don't have battery and avionics switches. :o(

You are of course right ;-)
I have made short-keys for those: Battery and Avionics.
But if it proves to be a problem just stick to the first method instead.

Just a personal bee in bonnet! I'm perfectly able to insert the
necessary switches into a panel, although your idea of assigning
key strokes could avoid me going into grumpy mode . . .
Best wishes,
John
