I would like some sounds for Bristol Britannia. Also, did the CL44 have Bristol Proteus engines?

Hi Paul
Don't know of a Britannia file offhand
The CL-44 had Rolls Royce Tynes so there is Frasers sounds for the Vanguard although the Vanguard had more of a whine due the engine driven compressors on the inners,

Try Adam Murphy's cansound.zip package at avsim's (I believe). To quote:
This is a soundset for the Britannia or the CL-44. Hear those thunderous turboprops on the Canadiar CL-44!! Mostly Modified Default Sounds plus a TU-114 soundset I downloaded from the web. They are what you call Music to your ears.
Cheers,

Thanks for the info mjahn but........
There can be no such thing as a sound pack for the Britannia and the CL-44
The Britannia had Bristol Proteus and the CL-44 had Rolls Royce Tynes
Completely different engine and completely different sounds
Any file that claims to be for both is wrong

Having flown along way on both - they are like day and night - most of my hearing loss is from flying on the 44 - Tynes are a totally different sound and as Garry remarked the Vanguard sound set wont do as the 44 had bleed air not EDCs so the noise wasnt as shrill - it was however after 10-14 hours in the air totally mind numbing - The Brit and its Proteus were a totally different
sound all together and others here at CBFS acknowledged, personally the Brit put me to sleep in flight - even in a 312 with NO interior soundproofing or insulation

Thanks for the back up Leif
Of course the Britannia earned the nickname Whispering Giant...well justified and my limited experience of Brits....in the stack at LHR and overflights seem to suggest most of the noise was prop buzz.

I thought that there were some Britannia sounds and finally found them via FSDome at
http://ftp.sunet.se/pub/pc/games/flight ... ritsnd.zip
Originally for FS2002, by none other than Fraser A. McKay.

Fraser also did an updated panel that make Mikes offering quite palatable.
