landing problem

i have just finished my second C4 flight and exept for a landing light penalty (i rarely fly above 10,000ft) it was going fine until the lannding.

As soon as i touched down the computer froze for 2 minutes and when it unfroze i got a taxi speed penalty because time was still counting. Also on the ned of flight screen what was a pretty perfect touchdown got a rating of -270 fpm!!!!!

Is there any way that penalty can be erased.

P.S ive never enjoyed FS more. FlyNET is GREAAAAT!!!!!!!

Hello mate..

That does seem rather unjust. I think a best case scenario would be if the flight could be deleted. John will have to have a word with Konny

You COULD, under similar circumstances.. eg, if you feel it's all gone down the pan and a freeze for 2mins would (in my view) get as close to this as I could stand.. ctrl+alt+del and close the sim, followed by the Client. You lose the flight but at least you don't get penalised for things outside of your control. However.. as soon as you hit the parking brake, you're pretty much tied to whatever has gone before,

yeah i think i'll og with the flight reset. I dont mind doing it again anyway because its a nice short flight. I think the problem might be the AI. When online i dont normally have the AI turned on but for this flight i left it on and the airport was swimming in traffic.

Anyway i'll probably do the flight again tomorrow.

P.S will i have another 24 hours to fly the flight or is it still counting from the beginning.

Hi Jonathan..

Well, the EDDI-EDDV flight.. the one you had the problem on is logged as having happened so unless John can get this flight removed, you're pretty much stuck with it mate. Fingers crossed he can get something done about it but nowt guaranteed

Re 'bugging out'.. it's so long since I've had to do this I can't honestly remember about the timing. I had just put a new beta panel onto a Viscount and the gear didn't come down. I presumed it was a problem with the panel (I never found out if it was but it's likely as I'd kept an old copy of the cab in 'gauges') so bugged out after trying in vain for a couple of ccts. Main gear failure can be FlyNET induced when they have failures operational (they're not at the mo) I re-flew the flight some time later but I honestly can't remember if it were over the 24hr period or not. Perhaps one of the other pilots can shed a little light on this

Hi Jonathan,

Konny has only just come back on the scene and has a mountain of backlog stuff. To throw another one into the pot to clear a 5% penalty I don't think would go down too well. There have only been exceptional circumstances where we have requested and had a flight removed from the stats. I think it's best bite the bullet on this one and remember to turn your AI down next time.

Hi Dave,

I don't think that failures have been turned off, I think they've been tuned more to aircraft that are less well maintained than our fleet. I believe it's unlikely to see any failures until we go below 97%.

To add... the FPM landing info seem very hi in FSX. I am rarely getting below 200 fpm, even though its a pretty much pitter patter landing (albeit not everyone, but most) The lowest figures I've managed of late were in the 146, think I got an 86 or something, but its just "one of those things"

..............and to add to that, the pilot doesn't get penalised for a heavy landing, it just takes it's toll on the airframe and the % status will drop a little further than we like to see.

And to add further again:

If you "bail out" you'll get awarded with a new 24h slot. I know from own experience
