New hardware

Post by DanKH »

Hi

Just got myself an Accesspoint so I can go wireless, what a thrill!

Also invested in a GeForce 7600 GT card from someone called Club-3D.

Everything works just great, but now I would like to know what kind of tweaking utilities there is for GeForce cards?

I know ATITrayTools for the ATI cards, which I have been very fond off, is there anything equivalent for the GeForce?

Coolbits tweak is one of the Nvidia options

And now Coolbits2

Should be more explanation if you search for Coolbit.

I was looking only yesterday at this for a 6600GT. From one of the articles:
We used the Coolbits registry tweak to enable core/ram tweaking in the Nvidia driver. To enable coolbits you need to do one of the following: Open the Windows Registry using Registry (start/run, regedit). Under the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \NVIDIA Corporation \Global \NvTweak] folder, create a new DWORD key called "CoolBits" and assign a value of 2 to it (i.e. Coolbits=dword:00000002). Alternatively you can download the registry key file that will do this automatically for you. Simply double-click on coolbits.reg.

We then proceeded to run the "detect optimal frequencies" option and let it do its things.

Edit: also http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_1.html

And then there is the Nview tray utility that gets loaded to adjust colour, etc

Rivatuner is also a very handy little application.

Thanks guys, I knew RivaTuner already, but didn't recognize that it worked for GeForce as well.

I must say that those 150 £ are some of the best spend money for ages.

A bit of tweaking here and there (thank you for the postings  ) gives me about 15-25 fps at EGLL, with 100% AI-traffic.

A bit more in FSX.

I'm a happy man.
