Re: Brooklands

Dave, re: the flaps, I seem to recall that the flaps and such weren't truly disconnected, it's just that the hydraulics have been partly disconnected thereby preventing the use of these for the flaps (even if you could get a hydraulic power source). The port flaps were wound down partly early in its...

Re: Not a Vickers Viking that I've ever seen the like of!

Hi Dave, I guess you're right, it won't be solved in the near future. I've seen plans for that hangar that were old when I saw them which is almost 10 years ago. Indeed it's a shame that 'Vagrant' is outside but as long as it will not last the entire winter she should be allright. Luckily mos...

Re: Not a Vickers Viking that I've ever seen the like of!

Just to add my two cents to this thread, there are indeed two Vikings in the Vickers product range and Brooklands has examples of both. The Viking seaplane is indeed the Thorpe park replica, IIRC it has an automotive engine that enabled it to taxi. The other (VC1) Viking has been used as a restauran...

I missed the green shoes the first time around I guess, at least their resurrection was in time for Tony's birthday. Many happy returns Tony!

Re: First flying lesson

The first step on a rocky road Toby! Good to hear you enjoyed it, your next challenge is deciding how long to wait before the next lesson... :flying:

Ben, 152s can be nice to fly too they just take a bit more practice to get the landings right. :)

Re: Echo Papa as she was meant to be

I know that it's not on the aircraft anymore (see here also: http://www.vc10.net/History/Individual/ ... ultan.html) but it may still be mentioned on signs etc around Brooklands. At least you can tease the VC10 team about it, most of them will probably not know it ;-)
