Re: UKMil no more?
Hi, From the horses mouth so to speak, me. Myself and 2 other scenery designers had simply decided to leave and try something a little different under our own steam, 2 of us had been at ukmil for 2 year and felt it was time to leave ukmil which (as far as the scenery section goes) was still in good ...

Re: Building Aircraft & Scenery
Hi Just had another go with Teds models, and I can't believe they worked great? I tried another airfield placing 13 buildings this time, because I deleted the first one because of the low FPS, but this time a solid 30.0FPS. The only difference was this time I used whisplacer to place the models and ...

Re: Building Aircraft & Scenery
So you do have quite a good PC, much faster than mine, LOL
I built my PC when the duel core chips where still quite expensive so bought what I could afford at the time and it hasn't had any money spent on it since.
P4 3.4ghz CPU
2Gb DDR2 memory
Nvidia Geforce 7600GS 512mb graphics card

Re: Building Aircraft & Scenery
Hi Stevo, My PC was 2 years old yesterday, and its reasonably fast, but not as fast as you can get today. His FSX stuff is textured in DDS too which makes it pretty frame rate freindly. :) I may be wrong, but I thought FSX wasn't optomised for SLI? Strange? my PC is about 2 and half years o...

Re: Building Aircraft & Scenery
Never had a problem with Ted's stuff in FSX. I've 6 hangers (about 4 different types from Memory) and a dozen or so buildings, mess hall, vehicle bays etc and still getting 20fps (limited to 20) Do you have a newish fast PC, I came to the conclusion that my PC cant handle the detail Ted has...

Re: Building Aircraft & Scenery
Is Ez builder frame rate friendly? I want to build some smooth scenery, I once downloaded some, whenever I was approaching the airfield the sim would become 'jumpy' Paul Hi The only person who can make an airfield frame rate friendly is the person who builds it. It's down to the developer to build ...

Re: Post War Towers...
Hi Hobby,
Is this the same RAF Ford I'm in the process of doing the ground textures for?, if so I've already got the type of tower needed I just need to find the time to repaint it for you. ;-)

Re: UKMIL Lightning
Hi, Bit disappointed with the Bucc from UKmil as this was touted with SP2 compatibility but only had .BMP files....so not a true FSX bird :worried: I think if you look in the FSX texture folder extended BMP textures are used in abundance, so FSX does use bmp. OK default FSX aircraft always use DDS b...

Re: RAF Coltisahall
HI Chris
I know John Young is currently converting Waddington to FSX and I think he has plans to convert Coningsby also. Coningsby was built before Microsoft threw in the spanner that is SP2/Accel. Which from a scenery designers point of view is a step backward.
