Hi Alex. Yes I remember it, and that clip was from the series. (and it was a good signiture tune!) Check the following link, of which there are 4 pages, which have most (if not all) of the series, although only on VHS...........AlexP wrote:I think the second video (featuring Bob Hoover) appears to be taken from a BBC series called Reaching for the Skies, which I'd all but forgotten about until I saw this clip....Does anyone else remember seeing it or better yet know if it's available on DVD?

Airboater...OT I know but one can spend a lot of time studying your rotating cogs before one finally realises that there are none missing and the entire sequence is completeairboatr wrote:I did a tial dipping with the 707 in a thread here.........

Thanks for the link Chris. Such a pity the series is only available on VHS. I would guess there's little prospect of it being released on DVD. Still at least it is still available. I might just get the odd one or two. :roll:Check the following link, of which there are 4 pages, which have most (if not all) of the series, although only on VHS...........

The thing that I remember particularly from the Reaching for the Skies series was the film of the Convair XFY5 ( Pogostick) being backed down from 500 feet agl. I have a model of this on FS and have only once managed to achieve this - my excuse is that without peripheral vision it is damn near impossible . In fact, it is this which makes FS so much more difficult than the real thing!
