HJG UPDATES - OCTOBER/NOVEMBER NEWS

HJG UPDATES - OCTOBER/NOVEMBER NEWS

To all outward appearances October might seem to have passed a very quiet month at the HISTORIC JETLINERS GROUP (HJG), but, that really belies the constant hardwork performed behind the scenes by this small group of dedicated jetliner/FS enthusiasts

HJG's B707/720 panels continue being a labour of love .... and a work constantly in progress for author George CARTY. Latest refinements to these files include

- Authentic inverter and air-conditioning sounds added
- FD roll bar corrected on the 1959 era B707 panels
- AP/ILS capture improved
- Trim wheel sound added
- V/speed bugs added to ASI instruments on all panels.
- Improved heavy smoke effects for turbojet powered B707-120 & -138
- All B707/720 FDE data further improved.

The latest HJG B707/720 panels, gauges, and FDE data (included within all Aircraft Base Packs) are now available .... dated "OCTOBER 21ST 2006". It is important to ensure correct panel, plane/model, and FDE combinations are applied throughout. Reliable FS performamnce cannot otherwise be garunteed. All panel and gauge files for HJG B707/720 (only) are most compatible with Windows XP. Unlike the groups DC8 panels/gauges these will not run with Windows 98.

Also released by HJG is modified FDE data for all its DC8 models and promoting aircraft performance of much greater fidelity. New heavy smoke effects for turbojet powered DC8-10's are also now available. Latest DC8 refinements are dated "OCTOBER 21ST 2006".

A minor "hick-up" with 9 new DC8 panel versions (released on October 21st) forced HJG to withdraw these for modification. They will be reinstated later. The groups original 4 panels for DC8-10, -50, -60, & -70 series, and DC8 Core Files have been restored to the website and are currently available .... dated "NOVEMBER 6TH 2006". The 9 recently withdrawn panels are perfectly functional, however, users of these may have experienced problems associated with incremental settings of both Heading & VOR Course Selectors on HSI instruments .... unfortunately not correctable per FSUIPC options. Again .... "THE 4 DC8 PANELS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ON THE HJG WEBSITE ARE COMPLETLY PROBLEM FREE".

No new aircraft repaints or models were released during October, but, a host of brand new files and upgrades "to die for" is steadily accumulating .... for what promises to be another exciting HJG's website update later during November.

The HJG forums are open to contributions by all registered users.

All HJG files are provided "FREE" for you private enjoyment.

Indeed it is.

All HJG models are of a very high standard and complement those produced by members of this site very well
