Ta! Everybody.
So if its RAF we give it blues to rear. An if its Civvy we give it nuffin at all. Am I correct.
Still on the York and this is for panel design and FDe wizards. Going thru' the SDK to find the answer to my fuel tank selection and transfer probs, is this correct.
Where all 3 of the FS9 center tanks are used, then FS9 takes Center 3 as the centre tank first used along with Left and Right Aux.
Does that make sense (wot I've said, not wot FS9 does)

Dan Air got the York back from the Scouts for their little preservation society and gave them Comet 4 G-APDK in exchange...the scouts were thrilled.
Thanks goodness for DAPG as it was supported with donations by DA but it was not official as such
Their aim was to have one of each Dan Air aircraft preserved.
A great pity they did not save G-ARAY the 748 with the greatest history.
They were late going to get G-APDK back as it was the first Dan Air Comet....but it never happened
But it Dan Air hadn't given the Scouts an old aerolplane that no one cared for in 1964 we would only have half the Yorks we have.
And if it wern't for DAPG there would be no Lizzies
A good result in the end.

Hi Paul,
I think it's a reasonable to assume that the aircraft built for BOAC didn't have formation lamps though the odd shot may turn up of a BOAC aircraft with them as a number were ex-RAF
You'll have to wait for one of the Guru's to answer your fuel tank question mate. There's not much here on the classic fleet that has 7 tanks!!!
I don't know if they'd be useful to you Paul but I have around 184mb of shots taken of the Cosford York.

Any of these shots of the cockpit? They would be handy. I think Manfred is OK for externals but will ask him.

Hi Paul,
I'd love to say YES but sadly, there seems more chance of a guided tour of Fort Knox than there is of getting onboard that York!! :crying: Flightdeck shots were (I guess) the main reason why the 'other' project stopped in it's tracks. You're welcome to what I have but in all honesty.. it isn't really much
Looking forward to the model BIG TIME so keep firing the questions off and I'm sure you'll get what you want in the end

I can't help with the cockpit but if this gets done and someone does a paint for the Air Scout bunk house at Lasham (goes with my Air Scout version of the T21B in the livery of that time :-) ) there is one really essential element to model - THE COLD!!!! (Surely this is possible in FS-XI if not in X?????)
My main recollection of Easter camps at Lasham was of ending up with fingers that looked like raw pork sausages from trying to make short-spliced weak links for the cable tows out of short lengths of rope in the freezing cold.
At least the York was better than a tent, though!
