A few simple rules...
Don't open any attachment unless your happy it has come from who it claims to have come from...
And even then MAKE SURE YOUR VIRUS SCANER SCANS ATTACHMENT BEFORE YOU OPEN THEM!
The easiest way to do this (if your not sure) is to save the attachment to you hard drive without opening it, then scan it with your virus scanner.

On Netscape if there is an attachment it won't open it but first asks if you know the source and you have to OK that warning to open it.
If in doubt chuck it out
It it is important that person will make sure it's clear to you what's coming
