Winds a loft...?
What does "winds a loft" mean?
I sat a check-mark in "Download winds a loft" in the metar, but I don't quite know what it means.

There's a space that shouldn't be there, Dan. The word is 'aloft'.DanKH wrote:What does "winds a loft" mean?

i.e. 'The men climbed aloft to unfurl the sails' OR 'The eagles soared aloft.'

It's Microsoft's little joke, when you select 'real world' weather (15minute updates) and winds 'aloft' it means your selected aircraft will be bounce around like a kid on a trampoline..
I've found that if your flying west to east this time year, you get the jet stream ( 80kts tailwind, easy  ). But north to south, say MAN/ BCN you cross many METAR areas, and get differing winds. So thrown around, not nice
.
I disable winds aloft... But I would be interested to hear from active sky users, hows your wind?
