Thanks for the Video John. The tune has bought back memories too.

And that is some impressive flying.

I can't get over that nose-wheel! When on the ground do the rudder pedals steer the nose wheel? or is it a seperate handle?

Hi Eddie

Most if not all large aircraft have a separate steering wheel for the nosewheel

He is probably using that to do all the steering hence not much rudder.

Probably isn't as bad as the foreshortening makes it look either

Then, there's this one!

Not sure why it's listed under crosswind landings!!:worried:

Have we jumped threads??

Interesting comparison between the 777 and the A380 vids (the A380 one I posted a week or so ago). The 777 didn't appear to kick off any drift until his main gear was down.. especially on that first landing though this may have been a measure of how strong the crosswind was. The A380 booted it just prior to the gear touching down (as I would have expected).

Luckily, the bra in that last video was able to keep her on the centreline.. but only just

Hi Dave

I would read too much into the technique of the Boeing as it is an early test flight and it might be a test to see if the driver gets it wrong then the undercarriage takes it without failure.

All kinds of horrors happen in test like tail scrapes are done but could not be assumed normal unless I was flying it
