Please stop the Quote-spam

Post by DanKH »

Hi

Although the ability to quote other peoples messages is a splendid utility, I see a tendency to quote almost every and anything during the last couple of months.

I see no need for quoting quotes, large pictures, series of pictures, whole threads etc. etc.

Use the quoting with some thought, so the threads will be a little more readable. After all it shouldn't be used as a Reply With History function like in a mail program.

Use a little time to clear out the quote and it will certainly be much easier for others to read.

I have seen some outrageous quotes of quotes of quotes of quotes all entangled, and the real response in the post was a smiley....

To be honest its personal preferance. Some folk like to read the whole thread, but many just go to the last post within the thread so quoting helps keep things in context.

Heh, when I used to visit the OCUK forums quoting for truth became a banable offence. Hexus ftw!
