Hi Les

Thanks for that explanation

The corrosion/re-skinning angle was mooted, but nice to have a reason confirmed.

She does look nice though and at least now, under cover she will remain in good order.

As regards other BOAC/BA/BEA liveries, my faves have to be:

Speed Jack on Trident 1s and 2s
Red tail (or Landor!) on Trident 3s
Golden Speedbird on VC10s and 747-100s

Landor on all the modern stuff, except perhaps Concorde where I quite like the last livery

:tab:
Not the only one! I think Landor was one livery which could make any plane look good.

Although saying that I have a fondness for the speed jack and the golden speedbird.

My Favourate liverys on the BEA/ BA / BOAC are Red Square on the Tridents and Golden Speedbird on the 10.

I was never a Landor fan at all, much prefered the orighinal "British Airways" with the red tail.

Yikes, someone posted a link to this horror in another thread.
And that is Boeing's looker?

Landor isn't that bad a livery, but to me it just looks like they decided to make the tail top blue purely to make it different to the previous livery.
Why make it like the flag, but not the flag at all? It's silly. :dunno:
If they didn't want to use the flag properly, I think they should have done something else instead.

Hi DM

That Boeings' not in full Landor......it's white not grey.

There were a few like that if added near the change to the later livery.

Very true Garry, it could have looked even worse.

It's the tail I don't like though. A blue triangle up against a blue top is a bit naff to start with, but the placing of the crest also looks bad on that one.
In my opinion.

It looks a lot nicer on the 748.

The crest looks too small as if they didn't have the right one.

But it is naff and looks like a quick job
