That's a good comparison Ian  It's sort of like pointing the aircraft toward the sky when all you can see is clear blue and the FR jumps up  The runway alignment and taxiways acutally fit very well with UKVFRPhoto but if you don't use it.. I reckon it'll fit even better into the 'World according to Bill Gates'

Good thing is it's free matey so if you're not happy.. nothing lost  I did take the precaution of removing all UK2000 associated bgl's prior to installing it (you do it manually btw) though this isn't mentioned in the readme file

If only we had more UK airports like this..

You could always approach Tom about that - he has always been extremely helpful to me in the past...

It will definitely be my 'EGLL' from now on - even though I am not getting the performance I would like out of my new system

FS9 running on..
Athlon AMD64 FX60 Processor
2Gb DDR400 Paired RAM
ATi 512Mb X1900XT Graphics - should be phenominal!

Stutters like anything and framerates oscillate wildly.

Any ideas :dunno:

Please PM me if you have

Is that as in good or bad Dave? Will I have to wait for my new PC?

California Classics has squillions of other AI sets of that era. Props, jets and GA. I don't understand how to use it myself but it all looks jolly clever

Ian,

The CalClassic AI is a doddle to install. All the files have their own installers and the only 'manual' task you have to perform is to add an entry to your scenery library - all explained in the readmes. I recommend them - very easy on the framerates. If you need a hand if/when you decide to install, please yell

I have reached the point of no return. All my traffic bgl's and all my AI/PAI aircraft are now gone. Guess I will be spending rest of the day installing oldtimers, and get the rest of the older airports.

I'll drop a screendump in due time :-)

A lucky coincidence will that on our local radio there is now a 3 hours documentary called "From Ellehammer to DC-8" which is a very inspiring broadcast to listen to while installing all this AI :-)

Hi, to all classic friends

Since today I was a long time lurker
on CBFS.

Glad to hear you enjoy my new creation.
I did it with help from Tom Gibson and
information from a guy that called himself
FsAviator.
This Heathrow represents the timeframe
between 11/61 and 3/62
( opening of terminal 3 dedicated only to BOAC )
After 3/62 this terminal was used not only
by BOAC.

Since I was not able to do Scenery with
GMax like Tom Gibson and Mike Stevens
I have to live with this rudimentar technique
to build a scenery with EZ-Scenery and SceneGenX.
As a positive side effect of this, the airport is very
good on frames.

It is nice to read you enjoy it....Thanks

We hope that more people will do in future
classic airports with the timeframe 1958 - 63.
This is in my opinion one of the best timeframes
for simming since propliners and early jets
flying side by side.

Greetings Wolfgang

Hello Wolfgang and welcome to the forum

Thank you very much for your contribution to Classic Aviation

Don't think bad about the way you put it together...the point is you did it, and that's what matters.

Hope you enjoy your time here

Hello Wolfgang, glad to have you amongst us!

I've been using you Entebbe for a while now, and it's great!

Now that you and Tom has made Heathrow, you ticked me into getting rid of all my current traffic. something I've wanted to do a long time. This was the trick that did it.

I've now downloaded a butt full of classic schedules, and all I have to do is compile the all. That should cover the era from 50 to late 80 at will consist of all CalClassicAI, RetroAI and Tim's schedules.

Guess you all won't be seeing my for a couple of days :-)

Take all the time you want, Dan. I think with a few of us here unfamiliar with AI your experience will be much in demand (again!)

I'm just going to download 1961 Heathrow now. I wonder if I can see me and my Dad on the Queen's Building?

Thanks very much, Wolfgang and the others at CalClassic.

Thank you for your confidence in me, but I must say that I consider Peter McLeland somewhat more of an expert, especially when it comes to set up your own traffic..... Installing others is normally a piece of cake really. It is the designing of your own schedules that ca be somewhat "tooth-pulling" if that's the right expression in English?

Btw. Wolfgang, you wouldn't consider doing a similar for EKCH would you...
