Over the years of flightsim I've occasionally loaded the default Bell and promptly crashed and burned and decided helicopters needed all the paraphanalia of rudder pedals and what not.
However I have just downloaded the Wessex just to have a look at the model and found it had a rather nifty autopilot with which I could hover.
I found the instructions for the autopilot on Simshed but they describe an autopilot slighty different from the one on the Wessex. It says you can set your speed height and heading and it will show up in the window but when I try to do this nothing shows.
Any ideas because I'd like to tool around in a chopper even if I'm not really flying it
Get yourself airborne with at least 40Kts of forward speed and 200ft altitude. Turn off the Stabiliser (Yellow triangle) now you can set the Height hold and Heading hold.
The instructions on the website are for the FULL autopilot..we configured a cut-down version...sorry for any inconvenience.
