WestJet have just retired their last fluf-jet and released this very nice little video of its last flight. Some nice high-speed low passes and dirty smoke
Southwest produced a similar video when they retired their last -200, but I couldn't find it on YouTube. Aircraft type retirements are always something I'd love to see recorded for posterity and put out for the public to see because every time it happens, it's the end of an era and should be celebrated. It was sad to watch almost all of the 727's in passenger service to be quietly retired in the aftermath of Sept 11th without any real fanfare.
The first memory I have of flying where I can remember the aircraft was an AirCal 737-200 that had built in air stairs in both the front and back of the aircraft. For the rear stairs they were mounted on the rear door which opened downward and the stairs folded down.
