Down under Andovers

Post by jenks »

I've just uploaded to Avsim the first three of five Kiwi repaints of Rick's marvellous Andover. Should be available for download later today (tonight?)

First up, the modified RAF scheme that the RNZAF Andovers wore when first delivered to 1 Squadron in the late 1970s. It went through various iterations before it was replaced by the standard RNZAF 'Vietnam' colours (still working on the 'Vietnam' scheme).

Next up, the VIP scheme that they wore during service with 42 Squadron RNZAF. This is still the scheme they were wearing when they were retired and you will see that it was little changed when they were operating by the various operators that bought them from the RNZAF. Ben Hartman of UKMIL has painted an example of 9Q-COE.

Finally, the all white scheme that two of the Kiwi Andovers donned when flying in support of the UN Operation Samaritan Somalia from January to May 1993.

Enjoy, and thanks to Rick for his paintkit and to everybody who provided reference.

Uh oh, looks like I'm going to have to get that Andover. As if I haven't got enough planes I don't know how to fly.

Hi Paul

If you have the 748 that should be a good starter.

It flies like a Budgie on steroids
