A fantastic day out this Saturday!!!
Anyone with an interest in classic British aircraft should get along to Coventry Airport this Saturday, 7.4.07, when Air Atlantique are holding an open day. For only £10 you can take the hanger tour and see an amazing collection of classic aircraft from the 40's,50's and 60's plus a few more besides and get up close and personal. For £55 or £60 on the day you can have a pleasure flight in a Dakota, Twin Pioneer, Rapide or a Proctor(I think). You are unlikely to see a more varied collection of mostly working aircraft in any one place plus they are a nice set of people at Coventry! For further details visit their website at http://www.classicflight.com .
Incidentally, I have absolutely no connection with Air Atlantique other than as a satisfied visitor and this will be the third open day I will have been to. See you there! Phil.

As I think has been posted on another forum - might be here
somewhere, the Air Atlantique fleet are 'coming to an airport near you' later this year.
One of the DC 3's is doing pleasure flights from Doncaster http://www.egcn.co.uk/1185.htm from Thursday 26th April to Sunday 29th April.
I think the Rapide is doing similar trips from Sheffield either the week before or after this.

I dont think we would mind them having the publicity
, this forum has had a long and happy relationship with the historic flight for years, I agree, if you can get there do it!
There is nothing better than realising what most of do on a PC for real! Say hello to my old friend the Prentice will you, she was the last classic I flew in last year, nothing but bloody Airbusses for me nowadays
Make sure you let a certain young man called Tom know are a forum member and have a chat, (I guess he is still working there?) he is one of our founder members.

Hi all,
I'm still there. Anyone from the forum make sure you come and say hello! I'll be looking after the apron all day so will be boarding and disembarking people.
As I mentioned on the other thread, we'll be running the DC-6 in addition to the Shackleton this year, and I’ve rather cunningly scheduled a Vampire currency flight for this Saturday so there will be a bit of Jet action too.
See you there!
Tom.
