At the moment all I have found is the JPG of some older slide scans.
Edit: All photos replaced by later versions in this thread
I need to do these again with my newer better scanner and with the monitor calibrated (recently bought a device to do this) to ensure the colours are correct.
Whether the re-scans will be much better I don't know - 30 year old slides taken with a Zenith SLR
Anyway at least the camouflage pattern is visible on both sides.
And that white number on your repaint suggests a Paris appearance - I wonder if I have any from that? But whether the "293" should be left on is debatable - a one off for the Paris Air Show
Hope this of some use.

In that case I'll remove the '293' and add the G-VTOL to the underside of the wings (Just noticed that in your pictures...) Can I assume that the font is the same way up on both wings , or would one side be reversed?
I'll also consider putting the *spits* NAVY logo on the tail as well!
Cheers.

I agree totally. Trouble is so many older source photos were taken at Paris Air Show that the display number "becomes" part of the scheme. Can't remember which now, but another repaint annoyed me for the same reason. Those large white number are airshow numbers not a part of the livery as such.
Haven't been to a Paris Air Show in decades, so don't know what the more recent situation is, but in the old days all the Paris display aircraft had these numbers. I suppose that you have to be of a "certain age" to recognise this.
Was Farnborough the same?
Ian
PS I have now found the original slides: Woodford 28 June 1975. They seem to be some of the first colour slides I took - I could at last afford colour film having got a job after leaving university. I have also found another one of G-VTOL at Paris 31 May 1975. I will rescan them tonight.

Hi Ian
I don't remember if Farnborough did that. I don't think so.
Not sure what Hanover did.
But the number ofter remained on for a little while after the show and were there sometimes before.
It could be confusing for younger members.
There are few pics of Aloha BAC One-Elevens.
Those that turn up are usually close up at the Paris show......I think it was Paris....so the impression is that the livery contained similar large numbers as that is practically all that is even seen

Rescanned versions of the earlier photos - they did come out better

The camouflage is a better match to the original repaint - the blue still seems darker/brighter.
Finally the Paris photo is not so good but shows yet another display number but no "NAVY".

This was taken on 31 May 1975, so within a month at Woodford on 28 June 1975 some quick repainting had been done.
Hope this helps.

Maybe somebody can correct me, but surely the colours are standard dark earth/mid stone/azure blue, or the BS381 equivalents thereof?
