The MAAM Viscount reg was never in Capital service.
It was built for as a V.745D Capital but it was one of the cancelled batch
It was converted to a V.798D as N6591C for Northeast Airlines
It only wore N7471 when acquired by the Museum and painted in Capital livery and no other Viscount wore that reg..........so I afraid your father could not have flown on that reg in service.

Oh well...thanks for clarifying! Looks like my dad's memory is as hazy as his vision.

Regardless, I think I'll just let him live out his years living under the false assumption that it was indeed "his" plane.
If Mr. Piper ever wishes to add a VC to his magnificent Viscount series, I'd be more than eager to snap a few photos (ducks and runs away REAL fast....)
